Spared the $50 fine, but red light cameras have potentially deadly side-effects that the greedy nanny state refuses to admit.
If you’re constantly putting your life in danger by slamming on the brakes when traffic lights turn yellow out of fear of running a red light and getting fined, then GPS Angel might be a blessing from above, the Miami Herald reports.
Using GPS satellites, this 2.5-inch dashboard disk alerts the driver when approaching a red light camera or speed camera logged in its database. It gives the driver about 15 to 20 seconds of warning before approaching the light, and will flash differently depending on what type of camera it is. Uses a car charger, or can use a $30 wireless rechargeable battery case.
Unfortunately, since GPS Angel is still new to the market and relies on subscribers to submit data about traffic camera locations, it is not sufficiently reliable at this time. Once more users nationwide submit accurate coordinates of the notorious nanny state cash cows in their locales, it should become a handy ‘must have’ tool on any driver’s dashboard.
And, of course, you can count on big government bureaucrats to find a way to legislate bans on these devices out of fear that they’ll cut in to profits generated by red light cameras.
